Little Rock police are investigating two separate homicides, including one that left a 14-year-old boy dead, that were reported within minutes of each other Monday night.

The department said on Twitter about 10:30 p.m. that officers were at the scene in the 10000 block of Stardust Trail, which is near the intersection of Chicot and Mabelvale Cutoff road.

Dispatch records show that officers received a call about a shooting at that address shortly before 9:45 p.m.

A police spokesman confirmed to an Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reporter that the department was investigating a second slaying at an apartment complex in west Little Rock.

Officers were called to 1502 Green Mountain Drive about for unknown trouble shortly after 10 p.m., dispatch records show.

At that scene Monday night, police said the victim was a 14-year-old boy.

The slayings are the 33rd and 34th homicides reported in Arkansas' capital city this year.

No further information was available Monday night.
