Bandmasters concert

The Konko Gakeuen Junior/Senior High Wind Orchestra from Japan performs for the feature concert of the Arkansas Bandmasters Association, holding its annual conference in Little Rock, 8 p.m. Friday at Robinson Center Performance Hall, 426 W. High School Musical

Young Artist Theatre, 38 students from northeast Arkansas who have been learning technical theater, acting styles, music theory and dance at the Foundation of Arts in Jonesboro, will stage High School Musical (music and lyrics by Matthew Gerrard, Robbie Nevil, Ray and Greg Cham, Drew Seeley, Randy Petersen, Kevin Quinn, Andy Dodd, Adam Watts, Bryan Louiselle, David N. Lawrence, Faye Greenberg and Jamie Houston, and a book by David Simpatico), 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at The Forum, 115 E. Monroe Ave., Jonesboro. Lower level tickets are $10, $8 for military, senior citizens, Arkansas State University students and children 12 and younger; all balcony seats are $8. Choir Camp

Subiaco Abbey and Academy, Subiaco, hosts the 42nd Arkansas Interfaith Conference Choir Camp Festival Day on Saturday. Music begins at 9:40 a.m. in the Abbey Church with a bells and choral prelude; the program includes “Do Not Be Afraid” by Philip Stopford; Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in A major by Herbert Sumsion; “I Will Sing With the Spirit” by John Rutter; Locus Iste by Michael Sitton; and “O Clap Your Hands” by Ralph Vaughn Williams. After a picnic on the grounds, the “Broadway Show” begins at 12:30 p.m. in Centenary Hall Performing Arts Center. The Choir Camp, which Little Rock’s Trinity Episcopal Cathedral started in 1976, serves about 100 campers, third grade through high school, from around the region. Visit choircamp.org.
