BENTON COUNTY

The Neighborhood Church in Bentonville, 2003 S.W. Regional Airport Road, plans a "send off" at 10 a.m. Sunday in the church parking lot for 26 church members who are heading to Guatemala for mission work.

The church offers "Theology and Pizza," a men's ministry, at 6 p.m. Aug. 8 at Bike Rack Brewing Co. in Bentonville.

The United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, 100 Cooper Road, plans a "paint-by-number" project of the Luther Rose for children today.

Church members meet for discussion of the book, Lies We Believe About God, by Wm. Paul Young, at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The United Singles meet for Bingo at 10 a.m. Aug. 5.

The church collects nonperishable food items for Snack Packs to be given to Gravette schools.

Unity Church of the Ozarks in Bentonville, 902 S.W. Second St., Suite E, presents author Susan Shumsky speaking on "How to Hear the Voice of God" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The monthly potluck meal will be served after the service.

Shumsky leads a workshop, "How to Hear and Receive Divine Guidance," from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 5. An offering will be collected.

First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, sponsor the United Methodist Women in the annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 5.

The church offers a series of 22 "Coffee Chats" through August for members to gather and meet the new senior pastor, the Rev. Jeanne Williams.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., plans a cookout and potluck to honor Bella Vista's First Responders at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The church offers only one worship service Sunday, at 9:30 a.m.

The church offers a worship service for those unable to attend regular services at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Transportation is available.

GriefShare classes begin at 3 p.m. Aug. 24.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday. Donation requests include shampoo, deodorant and body wash.

First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, 901 N.E. J St., presents guest vocalists Rebecca McBride during the 10:15 a.m. worship service Sunday.

The church operates a food pantry from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Saturday.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers, 1101 W. Hudson Road, offers vacation Bible school Sunday to Thursday.

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., sponsors a "Creative Kids Make It and Share It" from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday to Friday for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Participants will make different projects each day and deliver them to nonprofit agencies in Bella Vista.

Members of the church will gather for a sing-along with residents at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at Highland Healthcare and Rehab in Bella Vista.

Through the summer months, the church collects snacks for kids to donate to Helping Hands Food Pantry in Bentonville. Suggested items include cheese and crackers, fruit cups, juice packets and boxes, granola bars and microwavable items such as macaroni and cheese, ravioli and soups.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bella Vista, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., offers a class on becoming a member of the Disciples of Christ at 9 a.m. Sunday. Ray Ticknor leads the class, focusing on history, basic characteristics, avenues of service and organizational structure of the church.

Village Bible Church in Bella Vista, 1591 Forest Hills Boulevard, sponsors a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the Alaska mission team at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, in lieu of the regular potluck meal. Singing, devotions and prayer are offered at 6:30 p.m. in the worship center.

The Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday.

WASHINGTON COUNTY

Community Christian Church in Fayetteville, 4210 Frontage Road, sponsors the "Summer of Pants" clothing drive for LifeSource International. LifeSource offers free resources for low-income families and is need of men's clothing.

The Guitar Center in Fayetteville will donate one ukelele for every 100 pounds of clothing to LifeSource for after-school music classes.

Donated clothing will be collected at Farmers Insurance, Jeff Danley, 2907 E. Joyce Blvd., No. 1, in Fayetteville; Encore Realty, 201 W. Emma Ave., Suite C, in Springdale; USA Mortgage, 1999 S. 52 St., No. 3B, Rogers, or 911 S.E. 28th St., Bentonville; or the church.

The Jewish Christian Studies Center in Springdale, 903-D W. Johnson Ave., offers a 10-week course, "The Book of Revelation in Jewish Context," meeting from 10 to 11:30 a.m. each Friday, beginning this week.
