A GOOD BET

Games of chance raise cash to give kids, families a hand

Youth Home Inc. officials wagered that their July 15 annual Casino Night and Texas Hold'em Tournament at Next Level Events would be a winner.

The fundraiser featured craps, roulette and blackjack plus slot machines. There was also a Texas Hold'em Tournament where players could compete for more than $15,000 in prizes donated by local businesses. The tournament's Grand Champion was Terry Repp and the High Hand winner was Bernard Morgan.

Guests enjoyed drinks from 107 Liquor and hors d'oeuvres from Bar Louie. New this year was a VIP lounge with a full bar and VIP gambling tables.

"All together, the event raised over $31,000 for Youth Home's mental health programs for people of all ages who are affected by mental illness," said Stephanie Jonasson, special events coordinator for Youth Home.

Youth Home is a nonprofit mental health provider with adolescent residential programs and community-based treatment, day treatment and school-based services, as well as outpatient services for individuals of all ages.
