Library now offers nonexpiring cards

Some William F. Laman Public Library System patrons over the age of 64 are now eligible to obtain library cards that won't ever expire, called Forever Cards.

The person must have had a William F. Laman Public Library card for at least one year and be in good standing with the library. The new cards keep patrons from having to renew their library cards each year.

The new cards also increase borrowing limits for popular materials such as movies, music and audiobooks.

"The library has been examining policies and making changes wherever possible to make using the library a more pleasant experience for our patrons, " library Executive Director Crystal Gates said in the news release.

"We want to remove unnecessary barriers that keep patrons from making full use of the library and its services."

System libraries are the main library, at 2801 Orange St., and the Argenta Branch, at 420 Main St. More information on library services is available at lamanlibrary.org.
