“As long as I’m president, no one is going to stop you from practicing your faith or preaching what is in your heart,” President Donald Trump told a gathering of evangelicals Thursday in Washington.

President Donald Trump sought comfort in the figurative embrace of his evangelical supporters Thursday as the FBI director he recently fired told Congress about their conversations. The president told a religious gathering that "we're under siege" but will emerge "bigger and better and stronger than ever."

While evangelicals are probably some of the dumbest voters in the electorate. To start with, when you blindly follow "in faith" the guidance of your pastor you've pretty much failed the critical thinking test. With regards to Trump's claims of Democrat obstructionism, the following statement from the article pretty much nails it.
...
"Yet it is differences of opinion among Republicans, who control both houses of Congress, that are standing in the way of what Trump wants to do on health care and other matters."

Gohogs: empty threats are a poor substitute for evidence. I understand, though....when that is all you have, it's what you use.

Anyone able to think should be able to discern that Christianity is in no way under siege.
Laws are made by the legislative branch, which is over 92% Judeo-Christian. Laws are enforced by the executive branch, which claims 45 Christians in a row. Laws are judged constitutional by the judicial branch, which has been 100% Judeo-Christian since its inception.
Anyone who can believe that all three branches of overwhelmingly Christian government somehow has Christianity under siege has the critical thinking skills of a box of hammers.

These people don't want "religious freedom", they want special privilege to ignore anti-discrimination laws which protect the persecuted minority consisting of LGBT citizens.

gohogs, personally I'm mocking those that distort faith for political gain. I'm quite comfortable in my personal faith journey, which gives me peace and joy each day. But I am not a proselytizer like some are. My point, which you REALLY miss, is that Trump is playing these idiots like an easy card game. Trump no more cares about them than he cares about ISIS. This is all to keep his popularity going. But the sheeples of faith just can't figure that out and voted for him in droves.

Thank you 23. It's such a ridiculous argument when "Christians" say they are under siege when in fact they represent 95%+ of all legislatures in the country.
It would be like if Hispanics made up 98% of every legislature and said they were unrepresented and under attack.
You just can not take people seriously that believe that kind of nonsense. Basically what they are saying is their belief does not jive with our secular constitution.
But we all know why the lair says this stuff. Sad.

Nothing to see here........"Christians have the critical thinking skills of a box of hammers". "evangelicals are probably some of the dumbest voters in the electorate". "Trump is playing these idiots like an easy card game". What siege?

President Trump cannot be brought down. He is a messenger of God. His heart is pure and true and he has the courage of a Lion. All the dimwitted atheistic Christian hating
communists in the USA and the World will know he is our political messiah,
sent by the Higher Power to help save us from ourselves. Trump is The
Political Light of the World and darkness will not overcome him.

Delta uses "siege" as a euphemism for "valid criticism"
I also note his dishonesty....no one said "Christians have the critical thinking skills of a box of hammers" except Delta. I know many Christians with good critical thinking skills. What I said was "Anyone who can believe that all three branches of overwhelmingly Christian government somehow has Christianity under siege has the critical thinking skills of a box of hammers." That is obviously a subset of Christians, but certainly not all of them.
