The Great British Baking Show returns this week with double episodes airing at 8 and 9 p.m. Friday on AETN.
The competition series follows amateur bakers from diverse backgrounds who tackle culinary challenges in three categories:
• The Signature Bake, which tests the contestants' creativity and baking ability.
• The Technical Bake, in which challengers receive basic recipes with ingredient lists and minimal instructions.
• The Showstopper Bake that's designed to display depth of skill and talent.
Returning as judges are food writer and broadcaster Mary Berry and artisan bread maker Paul Hollywood. The comedic duo Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroye serve as hosts.
