HOT SPRINGS -- George J. Sun, aged 55, organizer of the Sun Bros.' Circus and known throughout the country in the circus and show business, shot and instantly killed himself at his home here early this morning. It is believed that Mr. Sun ended his life because of physical suffering. For 30 years he had been paralyzed. His illness did not prevent his active participation in business, and he was regarded as one of the most successful circus men in the profession. He sold his interest in the circus about three years ago to his brothers, Pete and Gus Sun.

• A black market sale nationwide of Arkansas driver and motor vehicle licenses by a handful of state Revenue Department employes in Hot Springs, Van Buren and Walnut Ridge has been uncovered, state Revenue Commissioner B. Bryan Larey said Friday. Larey said that as many as 10,000 driver licenses may have been fraudulently issued in recent years. He could not estimate the number of vehicle license plates that were issued fraudulently. The commissioner said that upwards of eight Revenue Department employes, all of them hired prior to Governor Rockefeller's assuming office, had been fired or allowed to resign.

• A teenage bank robber was sentenced to 15 years in prison Friday after a Pulaski County Circuit Court judge heard a teller describe how the holdup has left her living in fear. Ray Lewis Jr., 17, of Little Rock will serve at least 10 years before he is eligible for parole. Originally charged with four counts of aggravated robbery and one count of theft, prosecutors dropped two of the robbery charges last month in exchange for his guilty plea to the remaining counts. Lewis was one of three masked men who stormed the Simmons First National Bank branch at 8500 Geyer Springs Road on Dec. 11.
