Griffin leads NWA past Travelers, 3-1

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Foster Griffin allowed just one run over 62/3 innings, leading the Northwest Arkansas Naturals over the Arkansas Travelers in a 3-1 win on Tuesday.

Andrew Edwards struck Ian Miller out with a runner on first to end the game for his second save of the season.

Griffin (4-1) allowed seven hits while striking out six and walking one to get the win.

NW Arkansas went up 2-0 in the second after Jack Lopez hit an RBI single, driving in Parker Morin.

After NW Arkansas added a run in the fifth on a single by Corey Toups, the Travelers cut into the deficit in the fifth inning when Chuck Taylor hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Miller.

Tyler Herb (5-4) went 72/3 innings, allowing three runs and 10 hits in the Texas League game. He also struck out five and walked one.

Adam Law singled three times for the Travelers.

NW Arkansas improved to 11-4 against Arkansas this season.
