Katherine Elizabeth Watkins became the bride of Robert Hunter Mayo at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 17, in St. James United Methodist Church. The Rev. Greg Schick officiated.

Marcia and Rick Watkins of Little Rock are the parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Jeanne and the late Daniel W. McKinstry of Little Rock and the late Carolyn and Richard T. Watkins.

Parents of the bridegroom are Barbara and Mike Mayo of Coppell, Texas. His grandparents are Delle and the late William L. Mayo and Barbara and R.L. Spottswood, all of Dallas.

The chancel held a garden urn filled with pale-blue hybrid delphiniums, hydrangeas, white tulips, roses and ranunculus. Music was by organist Robert Lindley and vocalist Holly Funderburk.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless gown of white silk corded floral lace over a white charmeuse underdress. She carried a bouquet of white freesias, ranunculus, garden roses, tulips and pale blue hydrangeas.

Serving as maid of honor was Mary Katherine Kullander of Little Rock. Bridesmaids were Binish Lone and Mary Mendelsohn, both of Little Rock; Lindsey Little and Hannah Holt, both of Fayetteville; and Emily Newport of Atlanta. They wore gowns of ice-colored silk crinkle-chiffon and carried clutch-style bouquets of pale blue hydrangeas, freesia, roses and dusty miller.

Best man was Josh Mayo of Dallas, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Mayo Whaley of Austin, Texas, cousin of the bridegroom; Win Watkins of Little Rock, brother of the bride; Blake Martin of Dallas; Brad DuHamel of Sanford, Fla.; and Cory Cason of Irving, Texas.

A reception at Pleasant Valley Country Club was held after the ceremony. Guest tables held bowls filled with white garden roses, ranunculus, freesia and pale blue hydrangeas. Tables outside were centered with trios of glass cylinder vases with submerged dendrobium orchids and floating candles. Music was by Al Paris and the Heartbreakers.

The bride has a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and is a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Burn Unit at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

The bridegroom, also a UA graduate, has a bachelor's degree in communication. He is a commercial underwriter with Liberty Mutual.

The couple will live in Dallas after a wedding trip to Bora Bora, French Polynesia.
