Michael Howard was named chief nursing officer for Arkansas Children’s Northwest. Howard was director of pediatric emergency services at Children’s Hospital of San Antonio for more than nine years. He received a bachelor of nursing from Waynesburg College in Waynesburg, Pa., in 1996 and master’s degrees in management, health administration and nursing from the University of Phoenix.

Mike Luttrell of Walker Brothers Insurance Inc. in Springdale was elected president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Arkansas at its 116th annual convention held June 4-6 in Grapevine, Texas. Luttrell previously served on the group’s executive committee and board of directors.

Heather Wagner was promoted by Grand Savings Bank to assistant vice president. Wagner has been with the bank for 11 years serving as a teller, customer service representative, loan assistant and loan assistant supervisor.

Margie Nutter was promoted to vice president at Grand Savings Bank. Nutter joined the bank in 1997 and serves as network administrator. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla., and is an accredited professional.

D. Jean Gibson has been recognized by the American Institute of Chiropractors for two years on the list of 10 Best Chiropractors for Client Satisfaction. She practices chiropractic services at The Gibson Center, 93 W. Colt Square Drive, No. 3, Fayetteville. The American Institute of Chiropractors is a third-party rating organization, which publishes an annual list of the top 10 chiropractors in each state.

Kaitlyn Lingle joined the Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney & Faucette office in Siloam Springs. She worked for two years as a laser technician.

Reese Miller joined KHBS/KHOG-TV on June 19 as a sports anchor and reporter. Miller, a University of Texas at Austin graduate with a degree in journalism, has worked for Longhorn Network, Spectrum News and Fox Sports Southwest. He hosted sports programs for the Texas Stars hockey team and the Texas Rangers Triple-A baseball team, the Round Rock Express.

Jamie Weiss joined KHBS/KHOG-TV on June 19 as a multimedia journalist. Weiss, a recent graduate from Syracuse University with a degree in broadcast and digital journalism, anchored and reported for the university’s local news program, CitrusTV News. She interned at KXAS-TV, the NBC affiliate in Dallas.

Ann Sorenson joined Crye-­Leike Real Estate Services’ Fayetteville office. She is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Arkansas Association of Realtors and the Northwest Arkansas Board of Realtors. Sorenson worked as a teacher for the past 24 years.

Justin Adams recently was named director of pharmacy at Washington Regional Medical Center. Adams earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and a doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed a pharmacy internship at Washington Regional in 2006 and joined the staff as a clinical pharmacist in 2008.
