Event to recognize ARKids First start

The Clinton School of Public Service is hosting an event Thursday to recognize the 20th anniversary of ARKids First, in partnership with Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families.

"In 1997, nearly one in four Arkansas children was uninsured," according to a news release from the Clinton School. "Twenty years later, we've reversed that trend in large part due to landmark legislation that created ARKids First."

The event will take place at noon at the Clinton School's Sturgis Hall at 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock.

There will be a discussion about the history and effects of the health program for children. Local and national health experts, including those from Georgetown University Center for Children and Families, will be present.

Those interested in attending can reserve seats by emailing publicprograms@clintonschooluasys.edu or by calling (501) 683-5239.

The program also will be streamed live on the Clinton School's website at clintonschool.uasys.edu/uacslive/.
