$13,000 rolls in to bank for Boys and Girls Club

The Mardi Gras adage "Let the Good Times Roll" rings the same in Arkansas as it does in New Orleans. About 250 spirited guests at the Feb. 24 Mardi Gras in Arkansas helped raise about $13,000 for The Boys and Girls Club of Central Arkansas. The affair was held at Next Level Events.

Partygoers who weren't already wearing beads or just wanted more could select from a box at the check-in table then head over to a selfie booth. At the booth were Mardi Gras king and queen robes, masks, feathers and other accessories for the perfect Big Easy photo.

The evening included a silent auction, wine and beer, snacks from a couple of food trucks parked outside and dancing to music by DJ Ronald Daniel.

Board member Chad Brown said, "The money is to be used to broadly fund and support our youth programs, such as Music My Way and SMART moves, as well as to help maintain our facilities." The Boys and Girls Club of Central Arkansas offers youth programs such as character and leadership development, career development, health and life skills, art and sports and recreation.
