About 9:30 p.m., officers responded to emergency calls from the area of Sixth and Myrtle streets. When officers arrived they found Jordan Deshawn Turner, 29, dead in the middle of the road with a single gunshot wound to the head, according to Pine Bluff Police spokesman Roy Gober.

"If it were not for the identification found in his back pocket, we would not have known who he was," Gober said. He added that immediate family were notified, but police are still searching for other family members.

While investigating the Saturday homicide of David Ibemesi, 30, on 27th and Cherry streets, Gober said officers heard more gunshots a few blocks away.

Police discovered a youth with gunshot wounds. He was transported to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. As of Monday afternoon, the boy was reported in stable but critical condition, Gober said.

Killings so close to each other is not normal for Pine Bluff, Gober said. Last year, there were 10 homicides in the city.

"And this year we already had six," Gober said. "We are scrambling our efforts to increase patrols in those areas."

Few details are available concerning the shootings, Gober said. Police are asking anyone with information to call (870) 730-2090.
