The Steel Wheels

The Steel Wheels will perform at 8 p.m. today at South on Main in Little Rock. Tickets are $36.25, $34 and $23.25.

Formed in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia in 2012, The Steel Wheels combine the influences of bluegrass, folk, blues, roots, Americana and old-time fiddle music. Singer-songwriter-guitarist Trent Wagler founded the band with Jay Lapp (mandolin, guitar, vocals). They later added upright bassist Brain Dickel and fiddler Eric Brubaker.

The group has released nine albums, the latest of which, Leave Some Things Behind, was released in 2015.

One of the group's traditions is an annual bicycle tour, SpokeSongs, on which they average 10 shows over a 500-mile route where all their gear is transported by bicycle. In addition, they created a music festival, the Redwing Roots Music Festival, in Mt. Solon, Va., held annually in mid-July.

Steve Howell and Dan Sumner will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $10.
