Four generations of women come together for a complicated celebration in the comedy-drama Jar the Floor, through April 16 at The Arkansas Repertory Theatre, 601 Main St., Little Rock. The final preview is today with a pre-show director talk at 6:15 p.m. Friday's opening night performance will be followed by a post-show cast meet-and-greet champagne reception. A paradoxical mix-up threatens the romance between Frederic, a young slave of duty (Luke Angelo) apprenticed to a pirate king (Matthew Tatus), and Mabel, the lovely daughter (Kelly Singer) of a modern major-general (Daniel Foltz-Morrison) in Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance, 7:30 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Sunday in the Lucy Lockett Cabe Festival Theatre, Wildwood Park for the Arts, 20919 Denny Road, Little Rock. 5 FUNDRAISER

Opera in the Rock's Opera on the Rocks fundraiser will feature music, food and drink and live and silent auctions, 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Junior League of Little Rock Ballroom, 401 Scott St., Little Rock. Company members -- baritone Ferris Allen, mezzo-soprano Suzanne Loerch and tenor Jonathan Ray -- plus sopranos Victoria Mantooth and Genevieve Fulks (with pianist Kristin Harwell) will perform scenes from Gioacchino Rossini's The Barber of Seville, which the professional opera company will stage in May. Fairies, lovers and amateur "actors" ill-meet by moonlight at The Studio Theatre, 320 W.
