3 TREASURES

Get the scoop on family heirlooms at the Arkansas Artifact Fair at the Old State House Museum, 300 W. Markham St., Little Rock. Archivists, curators and appraisers will be on hand 2-5 p.m. Sunday to evaluate photos, posters, letters, diaries and other items. There is an emphasis on World War I, but all artifacts are welcome as long as they are small enough to carry. Photos of furniture and other larger pieces are permitted. Admission is free. 4 TABRIZ

Tabriz, the biennial fundraiser for the Arkansas Arts Center, kicks off with "Tabriz: Auction in the City," 6 p.m. today at the Arts Center in MacArthur Park, East Ninth and Commerce streets. The New York-theme gala's silent auction takes guests for a walk around Central Park with street-vendor food carts and exclusive beer and wine selections; the auction will include more than 300 Arkansas-made items, unique art, parties, events and experiences. Tickets are $50. At 6 p.m. Saturday at the Arts Center, the black-tie "Tabriz: The Silver Anniversary Gala" will feature cocktails, dinner and a live auction, followed with a performance by The Midtown Men," four members of the original Broadway cast of Jersey Boys. Tickets, $750, include a ticket to tonight's "Auction in the City." The event raises money for art acquisitions and Arts Center educational programs. Arkansas Symphony Orchestra co-concertmasters Kiril Laskarov and Andrew Irvin will solo in two double violin concertos -- the famous one by J.S.Bach in d minor, BWV 1043, and the world premiere of the Double Concerto by Michael Fine -- in the orchestra's final 2016-17 Intimate Neighborhood Concert, 7 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church, 5700 Cantrell Road, Little Rock. • The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Youth Ensembles concert, 6 p.m. Sunday in Robinson Center Performance Hall, 426 W. Markham St. at Broadway, Little Rock, will culminate in the Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra playing "Side-by-Side" with the pros of the Arkansas Symphony with Philip Mann on the podium, playing Ottorino Respighi's The Pines of Rome. Youth Orchestra cellist Wilson Vanderslice, winner of the 2016 Stella Boyle Smith Concerto Competition, will play portions of Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto. The younger musicians in the Prelude and Preparatory ensembles and the Academy Orchestra will play film music and arrangements of works by Antonio Vivaldi, Giacchino Rossini and Carl Orff. The Cinco de Heights street festival, noon-4 p.m. Saturday along Kavanaugh Boulevard in Little Rock's Pulaski Heights' neighborhood, marks Cinco De Mayo while supporting the Arkansas Foodbank. The event will feature music by the Good Time Ramblers, a golf-cart float competition and parade, a golf cart giveaway, kids activities and a mojito-margarita-beer zone. Admission is free.
