Map showing the location Spadra Creek Scout Trail

Location: Park in the gravel lot at the old iron bridge off South Rogers Street just north of Interstate 40 in Clarksville and behind McDonald’s. Take the stairs down to the dirt path along the east side of the creek.

GPS: 35.455610, -93.465220

Length: It’s 1.3 miles to the northern trailhead at the Main Street Bridge — 2.6 miles out and back.

Main attractions: There are two portions to Spadra Creek Nature Trail — a real gem smack in the middle of town. The west side across the iron bridge is paved; the east side (the Scout Trail) is rugged and natural. The first half mile of the Scout Trail clings to the creek bank and is the most scenic part of the path.

Hazards: Keep an eye on small fry on sections near the water, especially if the trail is wet.

Dog, bike, tyke friendly? Yes for all three.
