A former office manager for a central Arkansas branch of the Plumbers and Pipefitters' labor union pleaded guilty Wednesday after embezzling more than $400,000 from the organization over 11 years.

Where do unions get so much money that someone can embezzle $400,000 over 10 years from a local and not get caught? Union dues? Where does all the money (that isn't embezzled) go - and how is it used to benefit the workers?
