So what if the models at this fashion show were short, hairy and slobbery.
It's what the crowd expected at CARE's 10th annual Paws on the Runway: Haute Dog, held May 11 at Next Level Events.
The dogs in the show were carried or walked by human models wearing fashions from local retailers. The event was a fundraiser for CARE, which rescues and finds homes for pets facing euthanasia in local shelters.
Five of the dogs in the show were up for adoption while the others were CARE alumni -- dogs once fostered by CARE until they found permanent homes. All were adorable.
Besides the runway show, the evening included hors d'oeuvres and drinks and silent and live auctions. Annemarie Dillard Jazic was chairman of the fundraiser, which raised more than $55,000 for the rescue group.
