Tebow's arm dangerous in any activity

Though Tim Tebow has had some signature moments this baseball season, including hitting a home run in his first professional at-bat, he's still behind the curve in many of the facets of the game.

One fan in Lakewood, N.J. found that Tebow appears to be struggling with the accuracy of his throws, similar to when he was an NFL quarterback.

Before Tuesday night's game against the Lakewood Blue Claws, Tebow, who plays for the Columbia, S.C. Fireflies, overthrew one of his teammates in embarrassing fashion. The ball soared into the stands, where fan Doug Brustman said it squeezed through a railing and drilled him squarely in the groin.

"I hear this guy behind me yell, 'Watch out,' " Brustman said according to the New York Post. "And as he's yelling, the ball comes right through the railing and hits me. It was a direct hit."

As the Manchester, N.J. resident was doubled over in pain, he was able to squeak out one question: "Who threw that?"

"It was literally like a Seinfeld episode," Brustman said. "The guy behind me shouts, 'It was TEBOW.' It reminded me of his days with the Jets when he couldn't complete a pass. This guy is so inaccurate, even with a baseball."

To Tebow's credit, he would make amends with the fan. Tebow went over to meet Brustman and his daughter, Morgan, after completing his warm-ups.

Morgan Brustman told Tebow she dreams of playing basketball at Tebow's alma mater -- the University of Florida. Tebow even signed the baseball, making the painful experience a little more worthwhile.

Politically incorrect

Former Auburn and Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville isn't running for governor of Alabama. Given his comments Thursday about the home of Texas Tech, maybe that's a good thing.

Tuberville appeared on the Rick and Bubba Show while he was at the Regions Pro-Am golf tournament in Birmingham, Ala. After he left Auburn, Tuberville replaced Mike Leach at Texas Tech in 2010 and stayed at the school for three years before going to Cincinnati.

On Thursday, the Camden native compared Lubbock, Texas, to places halfway across the world.

"You run me off at Auburn and you ship me to Lubbock, Texas," Tuberville said. "I'm going to tell you what, that's like going to Siberia. Someone asked me, so what's Lubbock look like? It looks like Iraq."

For geography sake, Lubbock is in northwest Texas. The topography is flat like a pancake. It has approximately 100,000 more people than the Auburn/Opelika metro area where Auburn is.

Tuberville decided against running for governor of Alabama in 2018 earlier this spring. He would have competed in an open election to replace the now-resigned Dr. Robert Bentley.

Careful there, Alex

Alex Rodriguez made his broadcast debut Thursday on Fox Sports 1 as the New York Yankees fell to the Kansas City Royals, 5-1. He came prepared with notes, too.

Shortly after the MLB on Fox account tweeted out a picture of the former major leaguer in the booth, Twitter put his notebook under the microscope.

There is a header that says, "Child:," followed by the bullet points, "Birth control," "Baby" and "Pull out stuff."

Who knows what it all means. Maybe the former slugger was just brainstorming topics to bring up on air.

Needless to say, the original tweet was quickly deleted.
