NWA Fishing Report

BEAVER LAKE

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said spinner baits are working best for black bass and are the best choice where the water is muddy. Top-water lures, swim baits and spinner baits are working on the north end of the lake where the water is clear.

Crappie and white bass can be caught with minnows. The Arkansas 12 bridge area and the War Eagle River arm are both good places to fish.

Catfish are biting well on goldfish and stink bait. Flathead catfish 35 pounds and larger have been caught recently on goldfish, Whittle said.

Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said fishing is excellent for catfish with jug lines and limb lines. Small bluegill are the top catfish bait. Catfish to 45 pounds have been cleaned at the marina recently.

Water at the upstream end of the lake is clearing, Whitehouse said.

BEAVER TAILWATER

Carl Caso at Beaver Dam Store said Table Rock Lake is backed far up the tailwater. Fishing from a boat is best. There is limited bank access. Try Power Bait in bright colors for trout.
