Arkansans have until Wednesday to assess personal and business property before facing a penalty.
State law requires residents to assess their taxable property before the close of business on May 31 each year. Residents must have property assessed to determine the amount they owe in personal property taxes.
Wednesday's deadline pertains only to personal property -- such as cars, boats, motorcycles and recreational vehicles -- and business inventory.
Arkansas drivers are required to have their personal property assessed before they are able to renew their car tags.
Personal property tax payments are due in October.
