Executive chef Donnie Ferneau and executive pastry chef/partner Kelli Marks expect to open Cathead’s Diner, 515 Shall Ave. in Little Rock’s East Village, in early 2018. The restaurant’s breakfast, brunch, lunch, and pastry and dessert menus will feature an emphasis on Southern-style comfort foods.

The 4,075-square-foot restaurant is part of the Paint Factory, a mixed-use development overseen by Cromwell Architects Engineers that will be home to Cromwell’s new headquarters, retail space and the 12 Star Flats loft apartments.

The restaurant will seat 90 indoors and 30 on the patio, with room for another 100 at a chef’s table and private party room.

Ferneau previously was the executive chef at 1836 Club and his eponymous Ferneau in Hillcrest. Marks, who opened Sweet Love in January 2012, has recently moved the bakery from a brick-and-mortar store to a catering company, primarily focusing on wedding cakes.

Hiring is underway for approximately 20 to 25 servers, food runners, host/hostess, bussers, dishwashers, line and prep cooks and sous chefs. Submit resumes via email to catheadsdiner@gmail.com.
