24-year-old Arkansan killed in head-on crash; state police say pickup driver crossed centerline

A 24-year-old Arkansas man was killed in a head-on crash Thursday morning, state police say.

According to a preliminary crash report, 63-year-old Forrest Stewart of Ozan was driving north on U.S. 67 near its intersection with U.S. 108 in Miller County when his 2015 Ford F-150 crossed the road's centerline.

The vehicle hit a 2009 Hyundai headed south on U.S. 67 head-on, authorities said. The Hyundai's driver, James B. Crowe, 24, of Hope, was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.

Stewart was also injured in the crash, the report stated.

State police said the road was wet and conditions were clear at the time of the wreck.

Crowe's death is one of at least 423 on Arkansas roads in 2017, according to preliminary data.
