Police: While breaking into North Little Rock barber shop, man cuts arm, has to call 911

A man is accused of telling police he was attacked after he cut his arm while breaking into a North Little Rock business, authorities said.

During an interview conducted by a North Little Rock Police Department office Monday at the Conway County sheriff's office, a 27-year-old Morrilton resident said he burglarized Amboy Barber Shop at 5617 MacArthur Drive last month, according to a report.

The man said that he severely cut an artery in his right arm while breaking into the business, an officer wrote. He told police that he fled to his friend's truck but was bleeding so badly that he called 911 for medical help, the report stated.

When authorities arrived, the 27-year-old said, he filed a first-degree battery report to avoid being arrested in the burglary.

Warrants for his arrest in the burglary and false report are forthcoming, according to the report. The man named had not been booked into the Conway County jail nor the Pulaski County jail as of Thursday morning, authorities said.
