Tornado warning over as storms move through state

6 P.M. UPDATE:

The National Weather Service has allowed a tornado warning issued for part of eastern Arkansas to expire.

The warning for northeastern Phillips County was ended at 6 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 10 p.m. for eastern Arkansas.

EARLIER:

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for part of eastern Arkansas.

A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Marvell, about 20 miles east of Helena-West Helena, about 5:45 p.m., the warning said. The storm was said to be moving northeast at 15 miles per hour.

A tornado warning for northeastern Phillips County is in effect until 6 p.m. The weather service canceled an earlier warning that was issued for south central Lee County at 5:45 p.m.
