Authorities say a 25-year-old man was fatally shot in Pulaski County early Sunday.
It happened south of Jacksonville, near the intersection of Henderson Road and East Valentine Road, according to Lt. Matt Kornas, a spokesman for the Pulaski County sheriff’s office.
Around 12:45 a.m., sheriff’s deputies arrived and found a man unresponsive in a vacant lot, according to a statement from the department.
The victim, who was not being identified Sunday afternoon, had been shot in the face, Kornas said.
The body was taken to the state Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.
No arrests had been made Sunday.
