Set in the newly renovated Kitchen Stadium, Food Network's 10-episode Iron Chef Showdown will premiere at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Alton Brown serves as host. Jaymee Sire is the floor reporter, and Mark Dacascos returns in the role of The Chairman.

Each episode starts with the chairman's challenge that pits two up-and-coming chefs against each other as they create their best dish based on a secret ingredient. Brown acts as sole judge to determine which chef advances to the next level, the right to face an Iron Chef -- either Bobby Flay, Jose Garces, Alex Guarnaschelli, Michael Symon or the newest member, Stephanie Izard. A rotating panel of judges oversees the competitor against the iron chef, ultimately determining "whose cuisine reigns supreme."

Preceding Showdown's premiere, Iron Chef: Where Are They Now airs at 7 p.m. The one-hour special explores the current projects, from restaurants to television, of our favorite Iron Chefs.

Immediately after Showdown is the 10-episode retrospective series Iron: Chef Behind the Battle. Hosted by Brown, the show revisits fan favorite battles from the past, offers new insights about the secret ingredients and cooking techniques and explores each Iron Chef's individual approach to the culinary battles.
