Trio to perform 'Spanish Dance'; White Christmas in Fayetteville

Arkansas Symphony Orchestra string players will be featured in "Spanish Dance," part of the orchestra's 2017-18 River Rhapsodies Chamber Music Series, 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Great Hall, Clinton Presidential Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock.

Violinists Leanne Day-Simpson and Meredith Maddox Hicks and pianist Naoki Hakutani will play Navarra, "Spanish Dance" by Pablo de Sarasate. Violinist Katherine Williamson and pianist Tatiana Roitman Mann will play the Violin Sonata No. 2 in A major, op.100, by Johannes Brahms. And the Quapaw Quartet -- Meredith Maddox Hicks and Charlotte Crosmer, violins; Ryan Mooney, viola; and David Gerstein, cello -- will play the String Quartet No. 2 by Jefferson Friedman.

White Christmas

A touring company production brings Irving Berlin's White Christmas to Fayetteville's Walton Arts Center, 495 W. 'Pedal Punk'

High-flying bicycle acrobatics will be on display in Cirque Mechanics: Pedal Punk, a steampunk-inspired show, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the ArcBest Corp. Performing Arts Center, Fort Smith Convention Center, 55 S. Seventh St., Fort Smith. The show is part of the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith's Season of Entertainment 37. Also at the Springdale arts center this week, Fayetteville singer-songwriter-guitarmaker Bayard Blain headlines Main Street Music Night, 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the center's Lower Gallery, which becomes a cabaret-style lounge for the occasion. Tappers sought

Untapped Inc., the state's only professional tap dance company, is accepting through Dec. 1 video auditions for male and female tap dancers at an advanced level of any style of tap dance (teaching experience is also recommended). Submit a video, along with a head shot and resume or biography, and completed audition form (online at untappedlittlerock.org/audition, along with video guidelines and demonstration videos) to info@untappedlittlerock.org. Dancers receiving a live callback will be notified within two weeks of submission deadline. Rehearsals take place weekly at Shuffles & Ballet II in west Little Rock. Deadline is 4:30 p.m. Dec. 11 to apply for Department of Arkansas Heritage grants for Arkansas Heritage Month, May 2018.
