Principal on leave at LR high school

A Little Rock School District spokesman said Tuesday that a high school principal has been placed on paid administrative leave.

McClellan High School Principal Patricia Ellis-Brunston was placed on leave last month, school district spokesman Pamela Smith said in a written statement Tuesday. She wrote that an interim principal has been assigned.

Reached by phone Tuesday evening, Smith repeatedly declined to comment on the circumstances of Ellis-Brunston's paid administrative leave and said it was a matter unrelated to the school district.

Phone calls to school Superintendent Michael Poore were not returned Tuesday night.
