Authorities: Gunman points weapon at man driving with family to basketball practice in North Little Rock

Police are investigating after a 27-year-old North Little Rock father reported another man pointed a gun at him as he was driving his wife and four children to basketball practice.

The victim said it happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on Percy Machin Drive near Pershing Boulevard, according to a North Little Rock Police Department report.

The victim said his wife had been arguing with her sister and brother-in-law at the victim's home, and the brother-in-law later got in a vehicle and followed the family's vehicle, according to the report. At one point, the man pointed a gun at the victim and threatened to kill him, the report said.

"[The victim] advised that all occupants in the vehicle feared for their safety and believed that [the gunman] was going to shoot them," police wrote, noting the car was occupied by the driver, his wife and three 9-year-olds and a 6-year-old.

No injuries were reported.

The report identified the suspect, but no arrest had been made at the time it was written. He was not listed as inmate at the Pulaski County jail Thursday afternoon.
