Three men say a woman lured them to an Arkansas residence where they were attacked Thursday night, according to authorities.

A report from the Fayetteville Police Department states that the trio sent “photographs of large sums of money to a female in order to get her to spend time with them.” The men reportedly were told to go to multiple addresses, ended up at a residence in the 1300 block of North Chickadee Avenue shortly before 11:30 p.m.

The woman, whom the men suspected was "setting them up" asked them to come inside, authorities said. After they refused, a man reportedly approached them and asked for a cigarette, though he had just finished one.

The woman came out, and a few minutes later, the three saw the man who had asked for a cigarette running at them with two others, according to the report. Police said one opened fire with a semi-automatic handgun, hitting one of the three victims in the leg. The injury was not believed to be life-threatening.

Police said they arrested 27-year-old Paris Dwight Barton after officers encountered him at the scene and one of the victims identified him as the man who asked for a cigarette.

The Forrest City resident, who is on probation, faces charges that first-degree battery, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault. It is was not known whether he was the man who fired at the victims.

As of Friday afternoon, he was being held at Washington County jail in lieu of $25,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
