FAYETTEVILLE -- A Forrest City man was arrested in connection with a shooting late Thursday night on the west side of town, according to a police report.

Paris Barton, 27, faces charges of accomplice to attempted aggravated robbery, accomplice to aggravated assault and accomplice to battery, according to the preliminary arrest report.

Three people "sent photographs of large sums of money to a female in order to get her to spend time with them," according to the report. The woman told them to come to 1360 N. Chickadee Ave. The three told police they went to the residence, but didn't go inside because they felt she was "setting them up."

While they were outside, they said Barton asked them for a cigarette and walked away. The woman approached them and a couple minutes later, three men ran toward them and one of them started shooting a semi-automatic handgun, according to the report.

One of the three people was shot in the leg. His injuries were non-life threatening, according to the report.

Barton was on probation and not supposed to be in Fayetteville, according to the report. He was at the Washington County Detention Center on Friday on a $25,000 bond.
