A better saying to remember: Actions speak louder than words.

Right now, the guns are speaking much, much louder than the prayers and thoughts. So much louder, deadlier, and costlier.
Right now the guns are accomplishing a lot more than the prayers and thoughts. Deadly actions that speak louder and more incessantly than all the prayers and thoughts in the whole world.
