Village opens new center

Butterfield Trail Village, a Northwest Arkansas retirement community, on Tuesday celebrated the grand opening of its new Commons Center. More than 400 people live in the community.

The $6.7 million Commons Center features a performance hall, the new Bistro at Butterfield Trail Village and meeting and office space. The 17,000-square-foot space includes a new entrance to the main building with a circle drive.

The expansion also includes the low vision library room with audio books and reading assistive technologies, the David Lashley Boardroom, a general store with twice the space of the previous store and a newly landscaped south courtyard.

Bank's videos earn awards

MarCom Awards recently announced the 2017 winners in its annual creative competition for marketing and communications, and Arvest Bank received two awards and an honorable mention for its People Helping People video series.

The series highlights individuals in the communities Arvest serves who are making a difference in the lives of others. Arvest's entry was among roughly 6,000 submitted.

Arvest won a platinum award for its overall People Helping People series and a gold award for its video featuring Steve Ebert, a volunteer cross country coach for Central Junior High School in Springdale. The bank also received an honorable mention for its video featuring Marshal Grissom, head coach of the Caney Valley High School Bass Club in Ramona, Okla.
