An 18-year-old was sentenced to 20 years in prison Monday after he pleaded guilty to raping two girls in northeastern Arkansas, authorities said.

The two victims — ages 11 and 8 — were at their grandfather's house in Mississippi County on Nov. 19, 2016, when Carlo Love asked if they wanted to "play a game," according to a news release from the office of Scott Ellington, prosecuting attorney for the state's 2nd Judicial District. He then locked them in a room with him, the release stated.

The girls were taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock afterward, where DNA evidence was reportedly recovered.

Love, a Kennett, Mo., resident, was arrested Dec. 2., court records show. His prison term is followed by a 10-year suspended sentence, Ellington's office said.

"I want to thank Deputy Prosecutors Curtis Walker and Gina Knight for their diligence and effort to keep this sexual predator away from the citizens of Blytheville," Ellington was quoted as saying. He also thanked the Crimes Against Children Division of the Arkansas State Police and the Blytheville Police Department for their work.
