GREERS FERRY LAKE Crappie are biting in the pole timber and in and around brushpiles in depths of 15-20 feet on minnows, jigs and Blakemore Road Runners fished slow. Catfish, especially blue cats, are biting all over the lake on a lot of different baits. Black bass are eating off and on all day, from real shallow down to 40 feet on a variety of finesse baits. White bass and hybrids are biting spoons, inline spinners, grubs, hair jigs and topwater baits. Finding shad is the key.

LAKE NORFORK Stripers are biting during the day on flats in the 30-foot range from about 10 a.m. To 1 p.m. The 1C area in Big Creek is good after noon. Other hot spots are Cranfield Island flat, the flat by Blue Lady and the Fouts area. In those areas the bite is during the morning. Stripers. whites, and a few walleye are being caught on spoons and shad. Two other areas to look are the Twin Coves, and Red Bank flats.

BEAVER LAKE Stripers are biting topwater lures from Big Clifty to the confluence of the White River and War Eagle Creek. Concentrate on points, humps, pockets or tree lines where stripers can corner bait. Some stripers can be caught fishing the open water or channel areas near high percentage spots as well. Stripers are also hitting live shad on free lines, balloons and downlines between 10-40 feet deep, and on umbrella rigs with white or chartreuse jigs/grubs or big stickbaits in black back or purple back colors on downriggers or snap weights and planer boards. Walleye are being caught 20-30 feet deep on a variety of plugs, and on 1-ounce jigging spoons in white or white/chartreuse.
