Where I live: One of the greatest locations in Little Rock, in a condo near Pavilion in the Park.

Occupation: I retired after 18 wonderful years at CareLink, doing just what I like to do best -- helping others. And now I am a potter. Gallery 2221 handles my artwork.

My favorite space is: my kitchen.

Why?: Sitting at the table in front of the window, I can see the trees, birds and squirrels. It is there I complete my pottery, the detailed glazing.

It is warm, cozy and I feel free here -- no worries in the world. All my favorite things are around me. I can dance, sing or just sit and do nothing. And I can talk to my cats, Princess Leia and Obi Wan Knobie like they really understand what I am saying to them. Obi Wan is a Maine coon, so he is very, very large. Princess Leia is a rescue and very, very small.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: I would change nothing at my condo. It is like living in the suburbs with all the conveniences of the city close at hand. Lovely, well-kept grounds, a wooded walkway with a creek running through it, a pool and pool house for parties. But I would add more space for clay to the Arkansas Arts Center downtown so I wouldn't have to carry my tools back and forth for classes.
