Teen trying to buy baseball cards robbed at gunpoint, Little Rock police say

Little Rock police say a 17-year-old was robbed at gunpoint Friday while responding to a Craigslist post advertising baseball cards.

The victim told officers that a friend put him in contact with a person he called “Trent” who was selling baseball cards online. The two agreed to meet at an address at Southern Hills Circle near its intersection Baseline Road, to make the exchange, according to a report from Little Rock police.

The victim said he got into a black 2013 Dodge Charger around 4:45 p.m. and immediately smelled marijuana. When he tried to leave, Trent reportedly pressed a pistol into his stomach and demanded money, taking $400.

The teenager told officers two other people — a female and a male passenger — were in the vehicle with Trent at the time of the robbery.

As of Monday afternoon, police had been unable to locate any of them.
