Store worker sees masked man, gun

A man brandished a rifle at a Little Rock discount store employee before that worker locked the business's doors and called authorities, police said.

Officers with the Little Rock Police Department responded around 8:55 p.m. Saturday to a report of an attempted robbery at the Dollar Tree at 4701 W. 65th St., according to a report.

The store's manager, who was preparing to close for the night, went outside to make sure shopping carts had been returned inside. During the check, the employee spotted a black male with a white bandanna covering his face holding an "automatic style rifle" while leaning on a wall on the business's east side, authorities said.

The employee told officers that he ran back into the store and locked the doors behind him as the gunman started walking toward him.

Police said the assailant was not at the store when they arrived.

The suspect was described as about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He also wore a dark-colored long-sleeve hoodie, dark pants and white gloves.

Teen in Wal-Mart attacked, robbed

Police said an 18-year-old was attacked and robbed inside a Wal-Mart in west Little Rock on Saturday.

According to a Little Rock Police Department report, three people approached the victim inside the Wal-Mart Supercenter at 19301 Cantrell Road around 8:30 p.m. The group attacked the victim and then ran away with her cellphone. The teen was not injured.

The victim told officers she believes the people attacked her because she recently moved in with someone they have fought before, according to the report.

LR man wounded by area gunshots

A Little Rock man was shot in the leg at a party early Saturday, according to a police report.

Officers responded about 1:30 a.m. to UAMS Medical Center, where the 22-year-old victim told officers he had been at a "kickback" near West 21st and Martin streets when he heard gunshots.

The 22-year-old reportedly started running down the street, then looked down and realized he had been shot. He said he flagged down a vehicle and got a ride to Big Dawg Motorcycle Club in the 8700 block of Colonel Glenn Road to meet his mother, who drove him to the hospital for treatment, the report states.

His injury was not believed to be life-threatening.

Early-hour robber takes man's pack

A 58-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint Friday morning, according to a report from Little Rock police.

The victim told officers he was walking down Wright Avenue while passing Rice Street, near the Greater Trinity Church of God in Christ, when a black male assailant approached him from behind around 6:40 a.m. and tried to pull his backpack off his back.

The victim said he ran after seeing a gun until the robber caught up with him and grabbed the pack, according to the report.

The victim's backpack reportedly contained his sunglasses and keys.

The robber was described as a black male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds and having short black hair.

Purchase of card sends with robbery

A 17-year-old was robbed at gunpoint in the Otter Creek area of the city on Friday while responding to a Craigslist post advertising baseball cards, according to Little Rock police.

The victim told officers that a friend put him in contact with a person he called "Trent" who was selling baseball cards online. The two agreed to meet at an address at Southern Hills Circle, off West Baseline Road, to make the exchange, according to a report from Little Rock police.

The victim said he got into a black 2013 Dodge Charger around 4:45 p.m. and immediately smelled marijuana. When he tried to leave, Trent reportedly pressed a pistol into his stomach and demanded money, taking $400.

The teenager told officers two other people -- a woman and a male passenger -- were in the vehicle with Trent at the time of the robbery.
