Teen hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after shooting in Arkansas, police say

A teenager was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a shooting late Tuesday in Northwest Arkansas, police say.

Springdale Police Department officers were called around 11:30 p.m. to the area of Cardinal Drive and Oriole Street in reference to multiple gunshots, according to a news release.

While investigating at the scene, authorities were notified that a 16-year-old Hispanic male had been dropped off at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale with a gunshot wound.

Officers were unable to speak with him at the hospital because of the extent of his injuries, the release states.

Several spent shell casings were found in the area of the reported gunfire.

No other injuries were reported, and no suspects have been named in the shooting.

Police said they are looking for a possible vehicle linked to the crime. It is described as an early 2000s light-colored Ford Crown Victoria.
