Body in burning van ID'd as missing Arkansas man, 29

BLYTHEVILLE -- Authorities identified a body found Monday inside a burned vehicle in Blytheville as that of a man reported missing in Osceola.

Medical examiners at the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock identified the body as Korey Thomas, said Sgt. John Frazier, commander of the Blytheville Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division.

Thomas, 29, had been reported missing to the Osceola Police Department earlier this week, Frazier said.

Firefighters responded Monday to a call of a vehicle fire in the 700 block of Lindy Avenue.

After extinguishing the blaze in a minivan in a vacant area behind a home, they found the body inside the van, Frazier said.

The van had out-of-state plates, he said.
