Roommate charged in machete attack

A Little Rock man was arrested early Friday after his roommate was cut with a machete, police said.

Shortly after 3 a.m., Charles Lee Johnson was chasing his roommate around with a knife in their home on Bragg Street, according to an arrest report from the Little Rock Police Department.

Johnson, 46, then grabbed a machete and cut his roommate on his left hand, the report said.

Johnson was charged with aggravated assault and second-degree domestic battery.

He was being held without bail Friday at the Pulaski County jail.

NLR police say man shot in shoulder

A man was shot in the shoulder in North Little Rock on Thursday evening, police said.

The shooting happened at 4621 Puckett St. about 8:15 p.m., North Little Rock Police Department spokesman Sgt. Brian Dedrick said.

The victim was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center-Springhill. His injuries were not life-threatening, Dedrick said.
