Officers responding to a crash in central Arkansas on Tuesday night found a man passed out in his pickup with an open bottle of whiskey in the vehicle's center console, according to an arrest report.

The Sherwood Police Department reportedly arrived shortly before 9 p.m. at a wreck in the area of North Hills Boulevard and Arkansas 107, which is near The Greens At North Hills golf course.

An officer noted in the report that 55-year-old Jerry G. Cox of North Little Rock was found "passed out" behind the wheel of a pickup, and the vehicle was still pressed up against the one in front of it.

According to the report, the officer also observed an open bottle of Fireball whiskey in the truck's center console and a "sealed beer" between Cox's legs.

The officer woke Cox up, who reportedly didn't know that he'd been involved in a crash. He was then arrested and taken to the Sherwood Police Department, where a bag of methamphetamine was found in his wallet, police said.

Records show he was booked into the Pulaski County jail shortly before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday and remained there that afternoon, with no bail set.

He faces multiple charges, including DWI, possession of a controlled substance, careless driving and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.
