After report of 'possible safety issue,' Arkansas district closes all schools

UPDATED STORY: No credible threat found at school district, officials say

An Arkansas district says it is closing all schools Friday after receiving information about a "possible safety issue" at one of its campuses.

In a news release Thursday night, the Dover School District said the decision was made to give authorities more time to investigate the credibility of the report, which it received earlier that day.

There is no "substantiated threat" to any of the district's students, according to the release.

In a post on social media, the district said that a decision on Dover's football game, scheduled for 7 p.m. against Pottsville, will be made by noon Friday.

Dover is in Pope County, about 9 miles north of Russellville.
