Dog killed in blaze that significantly damaged Little Rock house, fire department official says

A dog was killed in a Friday afternoon blaze that left a Little Rock home significantly damaged, according to a fire department spokesman.

The fire broke out around 1:30 p.m. at a residence in the area of 31st and South Main streets, Capt. Jacob Lear-Sadowsky of the Little Rock Fire Department said.

Shortly before 2 p.m., crews were still putting out hot spots in the back of the house, which sustained the most damage, Lear-Sadowsky said.

No other injuries were reported in the fire.
