A legislative auditor said Friday that a former court clerk and city finance director didn't deposit about $1.53 million in court fines, fees and general fund revenue received by an Arkansas city over several years, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

Jimmy Story, who was Farmington court clerk and city finance director until he resigned Dec. 5, is under federal investigation, Dusty Breedlove told the newspaper.

Story's attorney, Kim Weber, reportedly said that she and Story disagree with the amount of money the Arkansas Legislative Audit cited.

Weber told the newspaper that she could not comment on what happened to the money but said the federal investigation "will come to fruition shortly."
