Teen dies in wreck after pickup crashes off Arkansas highway, catches fire

An 18-year-old Arkansas man died in a crash earlier this month when his pickup veered off a highway and caught fire, authorities said.

Dennon T. Webb of Melbourne was driving a Ford F-150 east on Arkansas 56 east of Calico Rock around 11:30 p.m. Oct. 4 when the pickup left the road, according to an Arkansas State Police report released Friday.

The vehicle reportedly then hit a tree and caught fire. An online obituary indicated Webb died that night.

It wasn't clear why the report wasn't released until Friday. No one else was listed as being hurt.

Conditions at the time were said to be clear and dry.

The death is one of at least 390 in traffic crashes in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
