Little Rock man dies after being struck while crossing Interstate 630

A 50-year-old Little Rock man died after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing Interstate 630 on foot, Arkansas State Police said.

According to a preliminary crash report, Ralph Rogers was hit by a 2005 Mitsubishi about 9:45 p.m. Saturday after he “darted” south across the interstate near Fair Park Boulevard.

Elijah Blackwell, a 25-year-old passenger in the vehicle, was injured in the crash, police said.

Blackwell and Rogers were both taken to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock to receive treatment for their injuries, according to the report. Rogers died there on Sunday, police said.

Conditions at the time of the crash were said to be clear and dry.

At least 393 people have died in traffic crashes on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary crash data.
